This year to honor my walk with cancer, I’m walking the runway to the cure. Runway to the Cure is an opportunity for breast cancer warriors like me to walk and fundraise to support research that saves lives.
No two cancers are alike. I had HER2+ cancer — a cancer that 20-30 years ago killed many women. It grows at a faster rate and can be missed on routine scans, but one year later be 2cm big — which is what happened to me. Thanks to others before me, research was funded that created the drug that saved my life. Now I’m walking to help others so they can move from just surviving to thriving.
Friends, I’m asking for your support $20, $50, or whatever you can do — please help me reach my goal and raise funds for breast cancer research.
A huge shout out to my friends Rita and Tracie for helping me find the confidence to say yes to this opportunity.
And if you’re in the area on October 1st come watch me and other breast cancer survivors walk the runway to the cure in the Reston Town Center Pavilion at 1pm. If you can’t join us, please hit the link in my bio and donate what you can.
