I’m fascinated by Temperament and Personality and how it impacts everything we do. (I’m actually working on a book project about how Personality impacts your Productivity.)

Your temperament is “the way a person thinks, behaves, or reacts to things around them”. Your personality “includes all of your unique qualities, traits, talents and behavior preferences”.

Dr. David Keirsey (who developed The Keirsey Temperament Sorter®-II (KTS®-II) the most widely used personality test in the world) provides a more in depth definition of temperament as “a configuration of observable personality traits, such as habits of communication, patterns of action, and sets of characteristic attitudes, values, and talents. It also encompasses personal needs, the kinds of contributions that individuals make in the workplace, and the roles they play in society.”

Side note: The KTS®-II is a 70 question personality test that identifies your personality type. It is based on Dr. Keirsey’s Temperament Theory™, published in his books, Please Understand Me®and Please Understand Me II.

Anyway, the (KTS®-II) gives you the four letter combination that defines your personality type. The four letters are based on your preferences in key areas, which depending on your preferences can give you up to 16 different letter combinations–and that’s where the fun starts.

The 16 different combinations are:

ESFP

ESTP

ISTP

ISFP

ESTJ

ESFJ

ISTJ

ISFJ

ENTJ

ENTP

INTJ

INTP

ENFJ

ENFP

INFJ

Now that we have the definitions out of the way, my next few blogs will explore the personal productivity and personality subject in a variety of ways. I would love your feedback and participation.

Click here if you don’t know your personality type, I’d also love to help you find out what it is and how it impacts your world.
